- Mercy or Leniency?
God is not the God of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles (non-Jews) – He is one God – both Jews and Gentiles are justified through faith in Jesus. Justify: to prove or show to be just, right, or reasonable. Romans 4:14-25 “For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: ... for where no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace [power]; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; ... Who against hope believed in hope, … And being not weak in faith, … He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, … But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on Him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.” Romans 5:1-2 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” The Lord's will is that men would be saved and we are justified by faith, have peace with God and have access to Him by faith – this is the assurance of hope by which we are able to stand. This is what we must hold onto, as God's Word tells us: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 6:12-14). It is by His great power that God has redeemed us. Romans 6:1-2 “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:6-7 - “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.” Romans 6:12-13 - “Let not sin, therefore, reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.” Romans 6:22-23 - “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” “Gather the people together, men and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:” (Deuteronomy 31:12). Jesus said, “Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls (Matthew 11:29). God is merciful, but God is not lenient towards sin. He will not give in to permit a little sin because of the weakness of man, it is the power of God to Salvation when the gospel (the Word of God) is believed. Therefore, when we choose to believe His Words over man's words and man's weakness, then we will know His Word is true when He says, “My grace IS sufficient for thee, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). This was not spoken idly, but with great power and authority by God. Paul knew this and chose to believe God and he saw God's power made manifest. If God is mighty enough to give us His Salvation, is He not powerful enough to keep us in the way of Life eternal? Does He not live in us by His Spirit, will He not continue to guide us even till the end of our lives? Will He not show us how to endure temptation while not yielding to sin? Does He not show us this way giving us His Word by which to live? It is then up to us to follow His way. In doing so we will have rest for our souls, not having fear of condemnation because of sin; but we will rest knowing that we are abiding in Him (not submitting to sin). In Him we have life and life abundantly. “But whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely and shall be quiet from fear of evil” (Proverbs 1:33). “Every Word of God is pure; He is a Shield unto them that put their trust in Him” (Proverbs 30:5).
- A Message for the Young and Older
Our life is like a vapor of smoke that is scattered by wind and disappears. James 4:13-14. We have a beginning, we also have an end of life here on this Earth. This life is only temporary. We must begin to think about all we have done and all we plan to do because the end of our lives is nearing. 1st Peter 1:24-25 says, “For All Flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth and the flower thereof falleth away, but the word of the Lord endureth forever. And this is the word by which the gospel is preached unto you.” The scripture reference is 1st Peter 1:24, and I look at the numbers and see that we have 1 day at a time, 24 hours in the day; how are we going to use these hours? People use the phrase 'you have your whole life ahead of you'. The Book of Ecclesiastes was written just for the purpose of calling all things into perspective. We are born, we live, make money, plant a vineyard, etc., some men make a name for themselves. God gave us these things on earth so that we can enjoy them but if that is all for which we live, then it is all vanity. (James 4:14-15) “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter; fear God and keep HIS Commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13 Every single person who died and is buried in the cemetery or some other place had to give account before God. “For God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing whether it be good or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14 We are among those who are alive now, and what will we do with our lives? Many things will come and go: fashions, cars, jobs, etc. We may move from one home to another; but at the heart of it all who will you be found to be when you stand before the Lord? Will you be able to say honestly 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course I have kept the faith?' And will there be the response to you, “Come in thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of thy Lord”? This is a personal walk between you and God. Examine yourself: are you sincere in your commitment to God? Do you make the effort on your own to seek God through prayer and reading His Word? No one is too young or too old to die, just be sure you are ready for that day when it comes. The power and wisdom of God is that we become mature in Him. It doesn't matter how old you are now, but that you would allow HIM to live in you more fully with the understanding that this life of service to the Lord does not go unrewarded. “Be sober” He tells us. (1 Peter 4:7, 5:8) It is not for you, nor for myself, but for HIM and by HIM that we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:28) When we have a complete understanding of this point made so many times in scripture we begin to understand the fullness and of the value in serving the LORD CHRIST. To HIS name be the glory honor and praise forever. Amen. May God bless you all. If you want to know the LORD JESUS CHRIST as you LORD and SAVIOR, ask Him into your heart today and He will come in (Revelation 3:20). Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 16:31) Confess your sins to God, and ask Him to forgive you and cover you in the precious blood of JESUS His Son (1 John 1:9).Go and sin no more. (John 8:11) Take up your cross and follow Him in the way that leads to Life Eternal. (Luke 9:23)“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9 Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have about having a new life in Christ or about what it means to walk with the Lord. May God bless you.
- You Decide
God gets indignant toward sin. Fools make a mock at sin (Proverbs 14:9), they laugh it off and say it's nothing, but God does not laugh off or brush off sin. He takes it seriously, Jesus did as well. Jesus did not “brush off” or take lightly the sin of the woman caught in the act of adultery. When He forgave her, He was looking at her heart. He forgave her because He knew the heart of the matter was, she wanted to be forgiven. His forgiveness of her sin was given with an imperative statement, "Now, GO AND SIN NO MORE" (John 8:11). In another instance, when Jesus healed a man who had been lame for 38 years, He told the man, to go and sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon thee (John 5:14). Fools make light of sin, but Jesus NEVER did. It is foolish to teach the gospel as if He did, by glorifying the weakness of humanity instead of glorifying the Power of God that lives in man once he has believed and received Christ. For if any any man be in Christ he is become a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17). God is called a liar and not true when one believes in the weakness of man rather than in the Power of God to conquer sin in their mortal bodies. Let us say rather, Let God be true and every man a liar. (Romans 3:4). We must believe what the Word says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:7). Because of this truth, we are instructed, Let not therefore sin reign in your mortal bodies (Romans 6:12). We make the decision to allow weakness to guide us into sin and death, or to let the Power of God (in Jesus the Word) guide us into Righteousness and Life eternal. The decision is ours. Which will you decide? Choose you this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). May God be praised and His name lifted up high forevermore. Amen. The Lord be with you all as you live seeking Him. All things and people were created by Him and for Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made (John 1:3). By Him we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:27-28). May each day of our lives reflect these truths.
- Introduction to Wisdom
Proverbs 8:10-11 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
- Live Different, Live like Jesus
1 Peter 1:6-8 - Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: 1 Peter 1:13-14 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: 1 Peter 2:1-4, 5 - Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. [spiritual sacrifices: your body as a vessel acceptable to God in mind and in actions, acceptable to God – 2 Corinthians 6:16-18, 7:1] 1 Peter 2:6-10 -Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 1 Peter 2:11-12 - Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation. We were called to walk as living and be lights in a world of darkness and death, to draw those who are in darkness into the Light and Life which is Christ Jesus our Lord. In the world, not of the world. Don't follow the world, follow Christ. Malachi 1:11 - For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto My name, and a pure offering: for My name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts. The only way to make a difference in the world for God is to live different from the world. Hosea 14:9 – The way of the Lord is right... Blessed are those who seek Him to walk in His ways; Blessed is that people whose God is the Lord. Those who don't care to have the Lord do not understand. He will not be precious to them, they will see Him has someone that gets in their way, instead of Him being their reason for living and the the One who sustains Life in them. To be the chosen people God has called us to be is not popular in the eyes of man, but we will find favor with God and that's all that matters. Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Psalm 111:10 - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever. Praise God. Thank Jesus!
- Strengthen that which Remains
Revelation 3:2 - Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: Revelation 3:11 - Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. To him that overcometh: To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Revelation 2:7 He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Revelation 2:11b To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Revelation 2:17b And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: Revelation 2:26 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.” Revelation 3:12 “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” Revelation 3:18-22 “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:” I Timothy 6:12, 14 Overcome sin, be washed and made clean and abstain from sin which is an abomination in the sight of GOD. HE is not asking us to do this alone, everything we need can be found in HIM, if only we ask believing in faith that HE is the GOD who supplies every one of our needs according to HIS riches in Glory. (James 1:5) IF WE COME TO CHRIST, WE HAVE EVERYTHING. Blessed is he that overcomes sin and keeps his garment unstained, unspotted from the world. Blessed is he who overcomes for he will obtain all things promised to him as is stated in these scriptures from the Word of GOD. Blessed are all they who put their trust in the LORD GOD Almighty. Blessed is he who hope is in GOD. They will not be ashamed who put their trust in HIM. To GOD be the Glory, great things HE hath done; so loved HE the world that HE gave us His Son to provide us the Way of Salvation and the Hope of eternal Life. May GOD be praised and HIS name glorified forever and ever. AMEN May GOD bless you all.
- Under the Covering
Message from GOD Exodus 10:1-4 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these my signs before him: and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the Lord. And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before Me? let My people go, that they may serve Me. Else, if thou refuse to let My people go, behold, to morrow will I bring the locusts into thy coast 10:7 - And Pharaoh’s servants said unto him, How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve the Lordtheir God: knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed? 10:14 - And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such. For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt. The plague came and thus the remainder of the harvest was destroyed. Pharaoh made a request for forgiveness, but it was insincere, for he went right back to his stubbornness and rebellion against the command of the LORD as soon as the plague was lifted. The Lord used plagues in Egypt in the time of Moses to show Pharaoh His power. He is doing so now. There is much more to come upon the earth, for the purpose of making the nations of the world to know that He alone is God and He made us; we are just mere humans, the creation of His hands, and He is the Lord our Maker (Psalm 100:3). One must not be as Pharaoh, who hardened himself against the Almighty God, the Only Wise King. Often times when people go through afflictions or hardships of various types, they will call upon the Lord and make promises to God or a commitment to serve Him; yet when the affliction is gone, they forget God and go about their own way. They forget all about the words they spoke and go back to their hardheartedness, living according to their own heart's desire and the lust of their flesh. This is the way of Pharaoh. This is the way that keeps the soul in captivity, a slave to sin: the refusal to yield to the One who made them. The whole duty of man is to fear the Lord and depart from evil (Proverbs 3:7, Ecclesiastes 12:13). The duty of the people of the LORD is to forsake, to reject, and to object to anything that exalts itself against GOD. This is our warfare and the weapons we use are not carnal, but spiritual for the purpose of casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled (2 Corinthians 10:5-6). Pharaoh wanted to continue walking in the way of darkness – he did not want to come under the obedience of GOD. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil (John 3:19). What condemned Pharaoh was his love for darkness rather than light. What condemns all of humanity today who refuse the Light of the world (Jesus Christ) is their love for darkness rather than light. Their lust for sin is greater than their desire for goodness and uprightness. Many are content to stay in their evil “comfort” zone of sin rather than getting out of the bed of spiritual laziness and gearing up to fight the good fight of faith, to cast out with Godly zeal anything that tries to reign in the place God has reserved for Himself. After the locusts, the next plague God brought upon Egypt was a thick darkness And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: they saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: (Exodus 10:21-23a). They were in their places for three days in the midst of a darkness that was so thick that it could be felt, men women and children of Egypt alike. All were terrified in the midst of this darkness such as they had never before felt nor experienced in their lives. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings (Exodus 10:23b). Because they desired light and walked in the light, GOD covered Israel in Light. They, in those moments of time, learned to put their faith in the One who would deliver them. God, seeing Pharaoh's desire to keep His people in captivity, said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether. And Moses said, Thus saith the Lord, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more. And all these thy servants shall come down unto me, and bow down themselves unto me, saying, Get thee out, and all the people that follow thee: and after that I will go out. And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger. And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you; that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt. (Exodus 11:1, 4-6, 8-9) This world is bad, and growing much worse by the day, no, by the hour. God is beginning to pour out His judgments on the earth and this is only the beginning. The only way we will escape is: if we follow the LORD in all our ways and keep to His paths alone; to be washed and stay covered in the blood of the Lamb, JESUS – not going to the left hand or the right, but removing our foot far away from evil. Moses was told by GOD to instruct the the people to take a lamb and slay it, And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said. It happened just as God said it would. Then the people of Israel were able to leave, they were truly FREE. How were they able to escape, unscathed by the mark of the plague? How did they live and not die? It was because they covered themselves and remained under the covering of the blood that was on the door of their houses. However, they were not to come out of their houses; that was of utmost importance. It is a good thing they obeyed because they were thrown out of Egypt that same night. We also, the called, the people of GOD, must not go out from under His covering to partake of sin for a day or even a brief moment of time. Time is very short and the time for Salvation is now, not “tomorrow when I've had time to do what I want to do” - “tomorrow” or “later” is not guaranteed to you. Redeem the time. God instructed the children of Israel to eat the passover lamb and unleavened bread being prepared to leave at a moment's notice. Jesus is the Lamb of God who shed His blood to take away the sin of all who would believe on Him and receive Him in their heart (John 1:29, Acts 10:36-38, 43). The last supper Jesus ate with His disciples before he died was a Passover meal. He explained to them the significance of the bread and wine, that they were His body broken for them, and His blood poured out for them. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26) (The life is in the blood, in essence, the blood is His life which He poured out for us. God said, For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Leviticus 17:11) To partake of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus, the Lamb of God (to eat the Passover meal) is: to do the will of the Father, to give ourselves wholly to do His work, pour out our lives for the salvation of souls. (It is not we who save the souls, but Jesus, when we preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. - 1 Corinthians 1:21). The time is short, we must do this now. Jesus said to His disciples, “My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.” (John 4:34, Mark 1:14-15, Luke 4:14-21) We also have this same duty: to carry on the work left to us by Christ until He comes, do the will of our Father in Heaven, be prepared for His return. Glory to God! (Matthew 7:21, Mark 16:14-16, John 4:35-38) Jesus isthe Giver of Life. When He returns,Will He find you eating the passover in haste, preparing for His return? Will He find you abiding under the covering, in the house, keeping yourself covered in the blood of the Lamb, abstaining from sin? Where do you stand now? Salvation is available today – accept it while it is called Today. Make haste, for the time is short. The scripture says, will He find faith on the earth? Will He find you living in faith? (Luke 18:8) Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh (Matthew 25:13).
