Live Different, Live like Jesus

1 Peter 1:6-8 - Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see Him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

1 Peter 1:13-14 - Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

1 Peter 2:1-4, 5 - Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

[spiritual sacrifices: your body as a vessel acceptable to God in mind and in actions, acceptable to God – 2 Corinthians 6:16-18, 7:1]

1 Peter 2:6-10 -Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe He is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

1 Peter 2:11-12 - Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

We were called to walk as living and be lights in a world of darkness and death, to draw those who are in darkness into the Light and Life which is Christ Jesus our Lord. In the world, not of the world. Don't follow the world, follow Christ.

Malachi 1:11 - For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto My name, and a pure offering: for My name shall be great among the heathen, saith the Lord of hosts.

The only way to make a difference in the world for God is to live different from the world.

Hosea 14:9 – The way of the Lord is right... Blessed are those who seek Him to walk in His ways; Blessed is that people whose God is the Lord.

Those who don't care to have the Lord do not understand. He will not be precious to them, they will see Him has someone that gets in their way, instead of Him being their reason for living and the the One who sustains Life in them.

To be the chosen people God has called us to be is not popular in the eyes of man, but we will find favor with God and that's all that matters.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Psalm 111:10 - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever.
