A person writes a will while he is alive, and its instructions are carried out once the individual passes away. The will names a still-living person as the executor of the estate. That person is responsible for administering the estate.

Estate: possessions or property.

A last will and testament is a legal document that communicates a person's final wishes pertaining to possessions and dependents. It outlines what to do with possessions, whether he is leaving them to another person or group or donating them to charity, and what happens to other things for which he is responsible.

When a person dies without a valid will, the state becomes the executor of the estate. In settling the estate, the state decides how to distribute the property and who receives payment first, without any consideration for a family’s circumstances. Any blood relative can stake a claim to the estate.

What a great blessing that God (our Father) has laid everything out for us, and has not left it up to the discretion of others (or lack thereof) to decide what is to be our inheritance or if we are to receive any inheritance at all.

Psalm 143:10 - Teach me to do Thy will; for Thou art my God: Thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

What is the will of God today? How do we know what His will is for us?

This is a two part question: one part being that the will of God is what He desires us to do in this life, the other part being what He has left to us being sons and daughters of the Most High Almighty, Living God who is powerful above all.

Things we know:

  • It is the will of GOD to do good and to have good done in HIS sight.

  • It is His will to be our GOD, that we would be HIS people, and that HIS people would delight in HIS ways.

Jeremiah 31:33-34 - But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be My people.
Ezekiel 37: 22-23 - And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be My people, and I will be their God. And David My servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes, and do them.
Ezekiel 39:25 - Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for My holy name;
Matthew 21:28-31 - But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.

In saying this, it related to the fact that the first son refused in the beginning to do the will of his father, but later was willing to do it after he repented. This is like the publicans and harlots who first lived their lives in disobedience to the will of the Father, however in their repentance they turn to do His will sincerely. The second son said he would do the will of his father, and he did not do it at all. Jesus was speaking to the chief priests and elders, when He said that the publicans and harlots would go into the Kingdom of God before them, because they are as the second son was. By all appearances and their words, they seemed to be in the act of doing the will of the Father; but they were not.

Mark 3:31-35 - There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

The scripture says one is defined as a child of God by the works that they do: fulfilling the Will of the Father (as it was stated in Mark 3:35) Praise God! Therefore those who do the will of the Father which is to witness and testify (give testimony of the great things God has done in them), those people can know that they are recognized by God as brother, or sister or mother in the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. All those who worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth – bearing witness of the Truth (which is Jesus) in them, allowing the Holy Spirit to speak through them. This is the Power of God unto Salvation – preaching the gospel. Many will not want to hear it, but you are fulfilling the will of the Father – that is what matters.

Romans 12:1-2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Galatians 1:3-4 - Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

* There are contingencies in the will of God:

2 Kings 21:7-9 - When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto His voice; (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) He will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which He sware unto them.”
1 Chronicles 28:8-10 - Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, He will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, He will cast thee off for ever. Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
Matthew 7:13-25 - Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

He does not want to see any soul lost in whatever manner.

John 3:16-17 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

He has set the law. It must be done His way. Walk in the Light of His Truth. Buy the Truth, but don't sell it. Give up what you have to in order to seek and know the Truth of God which is found through His Word; don't sell it - give it up for other things which are cheap – nothing has more worth than the Wisdom of God and the Word of the Lord, both reading, study, and living it.

Psalm 19:7-11 - The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is Thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

The Lord only wants to pass on His legacy/ inheritance to those who will value it as much as He does.

Luke 10:21-22 - In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in Thy sight. All things are delivered to Me of My Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal Him.

The Lord has reserved these things for those who are willing to be His beneficiaries, who will uphold His Will to do according to all that He has asked. When we are willing to accept that role, the provision in the Will is for those who uphold it, if we do not do our part, then the part promised to us becomes null and void. It is based upon our commitment to the fulfillment of our part.

His promises are faithful and true to all those who diligently seek His face fulfilling the Will of the Father willingly and with all their heart, all their soul, all their mind, and all their strength. Give it your all and all will be yours.

John 6:38-39 - For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 17:12 - While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Thy name: those that Thou gavest Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
John 17:24 - Father, I will that they also, whom Thou hast given Me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

May we guard our inheritance with all our might and may the Lord Jesus Christ dwell in us richly that we may may be found worthy in that day.

Revelation 3:4-6 - Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white: for they are worthy. He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before My Father, and before His angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

May God bless you all always.

Amen
