Deuteronomy 6:24-25 - And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He hath commanded us.

Know that the LORD GOD set all these things in stone (Exodus 24:12, Deuteronomy 9:10) as a testimony for us – that IF we would observe to do what the LORD our GOD commanded us to do, then the LORD would bless us and keep us and HIS face would shine upon us and we will find rest for our souls. (Numbers 6:24, Matthew 11:29)
Again in Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
Think about this one aspect of becoming a Christian that nobody wants to know: Study to know, Observe to do, and Practice.
Anybody who wants to be a doctor, nurse, lawyer, firefighter, police officer, or any of the many other professions there are (scientist, teacher, preacher, farmer, etc..) knows they have to study all they can in order to be good at what they do – be worthy of that vocation (or calling). If they do otherwise (take shortcuts or do not study) the results can be detrimental even fatal. However, the one who does the opposite (studying diligently) will most certainly have good success in their field.
The same it is with the Christian. After receiving Salvation, living the life of a believer in Christ is the exact same thing as studying for any given profession. One must be fully devoted, studying GOD'S Word at every opportunity to learn all they can learn to observe [to conform one's action or practice to (something, such as a law or condition) : comply with] to do all GOD commands us to do.
Even Jesus,
Who in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto Him that was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared; Though He were a Son, yet learned HE obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey HIM. - Hebrews 5:7-9
Our Salvation is contingent on our obedience.
There is no easy way, no slipping into Heaven by just believing in GOD'S existence, or by our saying Jesus is GOD'S Son, or that we believe GOD created the world. One cannot go about this life claiming Christianity and not living it.
But be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. - James 1:22
God said,
For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people - Hebrews 8:10
Serve the Lord with gladness:... Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. - Psalm 100:2, 3
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me:.. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. - John 10:5, 27
...turn not aside from following the Lord, but serve the Lord with all your heart - I Samuel 12:20
GOD Bless, and may His name be praised and glorified forevermore.
AMEN !!!
